生物医用材料是生物医学工程最核心的领域之一。所有的医疗器械和医疗产品都离不开对材料的研究，针对不同的医疗产品，选择合适的医用材料至关重要。本课程主要给生物医学工程等相关专业学生阐述生物医用材料的基本内容及原理，以及选择和设计用于医疗器械的医用材料的基础知识。本课程重点讲述金属、无机、高分子和复合材料等各类生物医用材料，解析材料科学与材料工程的区别，介绍生物医用材料在医疗器械和医疗产品等临床方面的最新应用。
This course is a basic introduction to medical materials and devices for students entering biomedical engineering disciplines. This course presents students with the knowledge needed to select and design biomedical materials used in medical devices. Placing special emphasis on metallic, ceramic, polymeric, and composite biomaterials, it explains the difference between materials science and materials engineering, introduces basic concepts and principles, and analyzes the critically important clinical application of biomedical materials.
