本课程的目的是让学生从现代物理学，即量子力学的角度，充分了解材料的电学、磁学、光学和热学性质。
The purpose of the course is to let students fully understand the electric, magnetic, optical, and thermal properties of materials from the point view of modern physics, that is, quantum mechanics. Students will also learn how to characterize these properties and the device applications based on these properties.
