This course will introduce the history, current understanding, and research frontiers in Global Plate Tectonics, including plate kinematics and dynamics, plate boundary processes, mid-ocean ridges, oceanic transform faults, and subduction zones. Through this course, students will develop a deeper understanding of the key concepts in global plate tectonics, the current debates, and potential directions of cutting-edge research.
