This course introduces image signal processing system-on-a-chip (SoC) design based on the popular reduced instruction set CPU. In the design process of SoC, the most distinctive feature is IP multiplexing technology, which is to customize a special function module. In order to design this functional module, the hardware design description language HDL is used from the definition of the algorithm, and the behavior simulation, logic synthesis, and optimization are performed, and then integrated to the Soc through a bus interconnection. After the verification, the layout can be taped out for fabrication. This course will take the general functions in the image signal processing SoC to introduce key technologies for various integrated circuit design.
