Students will learn about the patterns of biodiversity around the planet, and the ecological services the different ecosystems provide towards humanity. The focus of this course will be on the different impacts humans are making on the environment and biodiversity of our planet. Students will learn how to measure biodiversity, and different strategies to minimize our environmental impacts and mitigate those unavoidable impacts in order to preserve biodiversity and ecosystem functioning, which are essential towards human society.
