Theory course, 2 credits. As an essential attribute of human beings, engineering plays a fundamental role in the process of human society and civilization. This course will help students understand engineering and engineering careers from a philosophical and ethical perspective. The course aims to enable students to understand the relationship between engineering and science, technology, nature, society, history, philosophy, ethics, and the history and evolution process of engineering; so as to broaden their vision, establish a correct concept of engineering and sense of responsibility, form their cultural consciousness and future care, and enable them to analyze and solve related problems. Through learning, students will deepen their understanding of the challenges of today's engineering and the responsibilities of being an engineer, and improve their analytical and judgmental skills. Through case analysis, students will learn some philosophical thinking methods and moral reasoning methods, understand the standards of the makings and requirements of the engineering profession and the ethical norms of the engineering community, and lay the foundation for future work.
