Lecture, 2 credits, 2hours per week. Scientific papers are more likely to bepublished in high-impact journals if written in clear and convincing scientificEnglish. The first half of the courseexamines paper structure, looking at the typical purpose, form, and contents ofeach part of a scientific paper, as well as ideas about use of tense and voicein each section. The second half of thecourse covers points of paragraph construction, sentence emphasis, grammar,style, and word choice to aid clear, logical, and properly emphasisedscientific writing.
