Film art, known as the seventh art of mankind, is a modern comprehensive art form that closely combines all existing art forms with scientific and technological means. With pictures and sound as the medium and real life as the story material, film art creates a perceptual as well as vivid image on the screen, which seems simple but actually carries rich significance behind it. This course will take classic films at home and abroad as examples and combines them with the screenwriting theories which are most widely used at present. This course will also explain both the logic of film art from the appearance to the core and the aesthetics of films. This course can help students understand aesthetic meanings and philosophy values as well as cultural spirit. This course not only helps students explore the laws of film creation and comprehend the creation principles of film art, cultivates the ability of artistic originality but also helps them to understand the formation path of film creation from the appearance to the core. Through the guidance of the creation of film text or the practice of short film, this course aims to improve students’ artistic aesthetics and expression ability.
