The objective of this course isto provide the student with background and up-to-date knowledge for microbesthat cause specific diseases in the animal host, particular in humans. By theend of the course, students will be able to understand the role that certainmicroorganisms play in diseases, to interpret the clinical presentation ofthese infectious diseases and describe the relevant microbiology, bacterial /viralgenetics, and immunology.Lectures and tutorials. Lectureswill be taught by the lecturer in the classroom. Tutorials will involve groupwork learning processes, where you will discuss concepts and case studiesinvolving fundamental research subjects and clinic practise, based on lectures.You will also make a group presentation where you will summarize key pointsfrom research or other articles.
