This course introducesthe site survey and selection method for new offshore structures design, oceanenvironment, project cost, design rues and guides, relevant laws andregulations. The students shall learn the basic method for site selection andits considerations, the survey and analysis of wind, wave and current as oceanengineering environment. They shall also understand the method for project costestimation and be familiar with the relevant design rules and guides, as wellas laws and regulations for development of new offshore structures. The course providesopportunities for students to carry out the design of real-world projects. Itis the first course for the “Ocean Engineering Design” series courses, and itis to prepare the students ready for design an offshore structures in thefollowing design course.
