Human factors and ergonomics aim to design suitable machines and environments, reduce human error, increase productivity, and enhance safety and comfort with a specific focus on interactions between the human and machine/ environment. This course focuses on basic knowledge of human factors and ergonomics, such as anthropometry, human cognition, human-centered design principles, human-machine system, applies them to industrial design problems, including physical work environment design, digital virtual human model, human-machine system design and evaluation. This course explores the nature of human performance in system design and workplace design.
