Lecture, 2 credits, 2 credit hours/week. Pre-requisites: None. The course will provide a comprehensive interpretation of traditional Chinese opera and regional aesthetic characteristics from formation and change of regions with different traditional Chinese operas, regional aesthetic characteristics of the language art, performance and roles of traditional Chinese opera as well as the protection of regional traditional operas as intangible cultural heritage. Students will know about traditional opera and excellent traditional Chinese cultures.
