As an optional module, this course introduces the development of the discipline of sociology of education and basic theory of education. It includes a number of hot topics of the discipline like social stratification, education and social mobility, the school education system, school, family and community, education and family environment, education and gender. It aims make the students be able to analysis the phenomenon related to the sociology of education in the daily life and improve the students' problem consciousness and critical thinking.
