The lesson introduces the basic concepts of material mechanics, tension and compression, torsion, complex stress state, bending stress, bending deformation, bending and torsion of thin-walled bars, stability of compression bars, energy principle of elastic bar system, and inelastic properties of materials. Through the study of material mechanics, establish and understand some basic concepts and research methods of solid mechanics and continuum mechanics.
