This course mainly covers the following topics: related theories and technologies in FinTech research (such as blockchain technology, smart contract technology, etc.), mainstream econometric causal inference empirical research methods, financial and social network construction modeling and analysis, as well as an introduction to fintech-related empirical research. Through learning, students can master the theory and main research methods of financial technology research and use these methods to conduct relevant empirical research. This course provides graduate students with a foundation for empirical research in FinTech, laying a foundation for them to learn related FinTech technologies and engage in innovative financial industries. This course will also introduce students to the cutting-edge research literature in the field of FinTech, especially those using econometric causal inference methods. Students will read the literature extensively and in depth, and discuss it thoroughly with teachers and other students in the classroom.
