尝试在本科生中开出一门具有创新意义的研究性课程。创新体现在课程内容的理论与实践相结合上（非照本宣科），体现在结课方式的新颖上（非考题）；研究性体现在每一个内容主题都与主讲教师30年的科学研究经历与成果相关，都不具有现存的标准性答案。本课程，要与本科生一起讨论和反思有关大学排名的理论和方法；世界一流大学的教师发展、本科生教育、科学研究和博士生培养、财政收入等问题；世界大学发展模式；最后落脚在对世界一流大学的使命、价值与精神的讨论与领会上。通过本课程的教学，提高南科大本科生对世界一流大学的认识水平，尽早改变自己在本科学习阶段的学习与生活方式，为毕业后能进入世界一流大学学习并持续保持优胜做好准备。
This is a trial research-based course to undergraduates with innovation. The innovations will be presented in the teaching content and the closing way of the course. The research-based means that every topic taught will be related to the instructor’s academic experience in her 30 years, and without any existing and standard answer. This course will discuss and reflect with undergraduates on the theory and methods of four global university rankings; faculty and students developments, university research and doctoral training, and finance of world-class universities; and on the university modes in the world; finally on the mission, value and spirit of the World-Class University. This course will promote SUSTech undergraduates’ understanding about World-Class University, change their learning and life styles as early as possible, and prepare their future study and excellence in one world-class university.

沈老师是高等教育方面很厉害的人物，南科大提交给教育部的高等教育改革报告应该是老师负责撰写的。
上课的大纲应该是老师自己论文《研究型大学的自我迭代：新型研究型大学的诞生与发展》，提到了大学排名，研究性大学的历史与贡献、面临的挑战等一系列内容。
上课不能说是很有意思，但是如果你对高等教育、对南科大教改等内容很感兴趣，也是能有不少收获的。
