This is a trial research-based course to undergraduates with innovation. The innovations will be presented in the teaching content and the closing way of the course. The research-based means that every topic taught will be related to the instructor’s academic experience in her 30 years, and without any existing and standard answer. This course will discuss and reflect with undergraduates on the theory and methods of four global university rankings; faculty and students developments, university research and doctoral training, and finance of world-class universities; and on the university modes in the world; finally on the mission, value and spirit of the World-Class University. This course will promote SUSTech undergraduates’ understanding about World-Class University, change their learning and life styles as early as possible, and prepare their future study and excellence in one world-class university.
