This module will introduce the fundamentalcharacteristics, methods of generation, and criteria of application oforganoids as a novel model for biomedical research and therapy development,detailed with examples of organoid application. Organoids have receivedmassive attention as a novel platform for modeling human organs in biomedicalresearch and therapy development since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.Organoids have also progressed rapidly and plays a crucial role inbiomedical research in recent years. This module will provide information onthe basic theories and application routines of organoids, as well as theevaluation criteria on the quality of organoid development. Combing with theactual cases of organoid application, students majoring in medicine, lifesciences, pharmacy, and biomedical engineering will get insights in the basictheories and technical frontiers of organoids technology. Meanwhile, modelssuch as organoids are a crucial element in biomedical research, thus thismodule will facilitate the students for their future career path in biomedical researchand industry. For the individual postgraduate research project of the students,this module will provide a potential tool and research platform.
