This course aims to provide information on protein properties, protein quality control system, chaperone assisted folding and protein conformational diseases in neuron and beyond. In particular, the students will gain familiarity with principles of protein misfolding; protein misfolding diseases as well as current therapies. The student can improve their abilities listed below:· understand the fundamental properties of protein.· describe protein folding kinetics and aggregate formation. · understand and describe the biophysical and biochemical techniques to study protein folding and aggregates. · be able to evaluate and interpret the scientific publications in the field.· describe fibril structure and biophysical properties and become familiar with the relationship between protein misfolding and neurodegenerative as well as other diseases.· become able to search, read, critically evaluate and discuss scientific literature related to protein misfolding and human diseases.
