Lecture and lab, 3 credit, 4 hours per week. This course systematically introduces the types, operational modes and loads, design principles, and performance analysis methods of different types of offshore platforms. It includes fixed offshore platforms, jack-up offshore platforms, semi-submersible offshore platforms, floating production storage & offloading (FPSO) system. By attending this course, students will have a systematic and comprehensive understanding of offshore platforms, which will equip them with fundamental knowledge and professional skills for their future work in ocean engineering industry.
