This seminar provides an examination of contemporary biomedical ethical issues such as the definition of a person, decision-making on life and death, euthanasia, organ transplantation, prenatal diagnosis and intervention, problems in the physician-patient relationship, reproductive technologies, genetic engineering and accessibility to health care. This course conveys the importance of the integrated and collaborative research and professionalism that one can expect to encounter within the health care and scientific communities. This course will be one of the many educational experiences that prepare undergraduates for professional studies in the medical sciences.
