This course aims to introduce the basic theory and analysis methods of RF and microwave circuits and systems, including transmission line theory, guided wave theory, microstrip transmission line theory, microwave network analysis, impedance matching and tuning, microwave filters, couplers and power splitters, microwave amplifier design, etc. Meanwhile, the course focus on training and guiding students with the application of the theory and knowledge. This is accomplished by several well-prepared course design projects and experiments. Students can master practical design methodology and understand the design process of RF circuits through this process. While introducing the basic theory, this course also introduces cutting-edge knowledge of modern transmitters. This will expand the horizons of graduate students whose research field is related to communication circuits, cultivate students' intuition in radio-frequency integrated circuit design, and lay a good foundation for further research on advanced communication technologies.
