Students are placed in industryto engage with an authentic workplace context. Learning takes place in theinvolvement of a realistic project provided by a company. A number of companiesvarying in size and industry are afforded as options. By practicingethnographic research methods during the project involvement, students willobserve and critically reflect on the material and social composition of theworkplace in a structured way. Students will analyze the role andresponsibilities of designers in the chosen industry along with relevantteamwork skills, and critically reflect on how these aspects may change in thefuture. By exchanging their findings and insights, students will articulate thesocietal, cultural and environmental impacts of design practice, and propose actionable principles on how toachieve positive impacts in the chosen industry.
