Viewing design problems as a collection ofdecision-making processes, data has been one of the critical foundations formaking such decisions. This course introduces the basics of data-relatedmethods as well as cutting-edge applications using software or programminglanguage for computational practice. Through case studies of data generatedfrom human activities and nature, students will learn techniques inrepresentation, processing, analysis, learning, and visualization of data, togain insights about human behaviors, perceptions, and the interaction betweenuser and their environment, communicate information, and create for theintersection of data and design. The course will include field trips dependingon availability and external collaborator and the contents are subject tochange to fulfill the course objectives.
