Metabolic diseases are a class of disease that impacts a wide range of populations. Over the pass decades, extensive studies have focused on metabolic diseases. In this course, we will introduce the epidemiology, pathophysiology, prevention and treatment of metabolic diseases, including obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, fatty liver as well as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. We will focus on the role of the central nervous system in the occurrence and development of diseases. Besides, we will introduce the recent research progresses, so that the graduate students can grasp the latest knowledge about the prevention and treatment of these diseases.
