This courseintroduces the widely used state-of-the-art characterization techniques forenergy devices study, including their working principles, applicability, advantages, and their limits. From this course, students will manage differentcharacterization techniques and the properties of the analyzed materials, understand the pros and cons of various techniques and how they complement eachother, seeing the current progress and trend of developing state-of-the-arttechniques for resolving remaining technical issues and bottlenecks. Thus, thestudents will obtain certain interdisciplinary knowledge, understand thefeasibility of a technique under a certain condition, as well as the properdata processing method. Meanwhile, through the lab session, students willinterrogate actual samples, thus obtain hands-on experience during themeasurement, which will further consolidate the theoretical knowledge learnedfrom the class.
