古籍中的历史文化

This is a GE oriented course in humanities area, designed for the undergraduate students of all majors. This course focuses on the history and culture about ancient Chinese books. Ancient books are the physical carrier of traditional Chinese culture, which include all the knowledge produced in China history. We can learn traditional Chinese culture more specific through it.This course is based on the development history of ancient books and presents the conditions of book printing in different dynasties. The lecture will be given on the features, classification and production of ancient books in Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing and Republic of China. The systematic knowledge related ancient books will be presented with special topic in this course. In order to help students to understand better, many photos of ancient books will be used in my lecture and some photocopies borrowed from SUSTech library will be used in my teaching. In addition, this course will cultivate the ability of reading ancient books. Students can try to read the text directly by using what they have learned.This course will be carried out in Chinese. On top of meeting the basic attendance requirement, the students are expected to complete all the assignments. The assessment of the coursework mainly consists of the quizzes in classes and two tests in the middle and final of term. The final project of this course need students to put what they have learned into practice.
