Big Data Analysis Software and Its Applications is the major core courses of the Data Science and Big Data Major in Department of Statistics and Data Science. This course combines the basic theory of computing and industrial practices. It illustrates the basic structure and applications of big data analysis software like Hadoop and Spark. Through this course, students will learn the MapReduce algorithm, master the main ideas and processes of big data analysis. They will also learn about the typical application scenarios of big data analysis and master how to solve the common big data analysis problems with Hadoop or Spark and gain the basic abilities of solving practical problems with big data analysis software and technologies.
