Lecture, 3 credits, 3 hours per week. Medical molecular microbiology is a branch of medical microbiology that emphasizes the use of gene knockout, gene editing, and high-throughput sequencing techniques to explain the biological characteristics, pathogenicity, immunity, laboratory diagnosis, and specific prevention of pathogenic microorganisms related to human diseases. The research objectives of medical molecular microbiology are applied for using new theories and methods to clarify and identify microorganisms, to investigate the pathogenic mechanism of pathogens at the molecular level, and to develop new rapid diagnostic and preventive methods.
