This course is a specialized elective course for undergraduates majoring in aerospace engineering. This course mainly introduces the main principles of turbomachinery of modern civil aviation engine. The basic content of the course includes compressor grade parameters, compressor cascade aerodynamics, compressor blade force, compressor three-dimensional flow, compressor flow stability, multi-stage compressor stall, the impact of incoming flow on compressor performance, and compressor design, centrifugal compressor aerodynamics, aerothermo-dynamics of gas turbines, experiments for aircraft engine, etc. The goal of the course is to equip students with the basic principles of aircraft engines and to understand the trends in aerospace engines, laying the groundwork for future scientific research and engineering practice.
