This course starts with the basics of bioinformatics andsystems biology, covering topics like sequence alignment, gene prediction, protein structure and function prediction, RNA structure and function prediction, biological network construction and analysis, stresses and organismalevolution, metabolic reprogramming, applications to solving biomedicalproblems. It focuses on understanding of the key concept of each tool and thepractical application of the tools, rather than the computing techniques. Weaim to train the students so they will be able to study complex biomedicalproblems from the information perspective and using online bioinformatics andsystems biology tools, and prepare the students for future biological researchand applications.
