STA308. Data Science PracticeLecture, 3 credits, 4 hours per week. Pre-requisites: STA303.The course aims to help students gain a deep understanding of data science by studying and analyzing real-world data science cases. Students will learn and apply core techniques and methods of data science to solve practical problems. Through case-based learning, students will explore the application characteristics and challenges of data science in various industries such as finance, manufacturing, gaming, social media, and retail. The course will focus on key technologies including data collection and cleansing, feature engineering, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization, enabling students to gain a thorough understanding and flexible application. Additionally, industry experts will be invited to share their practical experience, providing valuable guidance and insights to students.
