Thepurpose of the Earthquake of the Week is to familiarize geophysics studentswith active earthquake processes and related tectonic and non-tectonicprocesses (including volcanic eruption, landslides, glacier processes, etc.)around the world. Over time, most seismic active regions of the globe will bediscussed to provide a coherent review of tectonic processes. The course alsoserves as a training platform for students to learn fundamental skills forstudying earthquakes and develop critical review and presentation skills in arelaxed, collegial environment.
