Semiconductor Device(3)Lectures and experiment, 3 credits (1 for experiment), 4 hours per week. Prerequisites: SME213 Semiconductor Material Physicsor EE203 Solid-state Electronics. The purpose of this course is to introduce the physical properties, the statistical distribution of carriers, and conductivity of semiconductors. Meanwhile, the PN junction, metal-semiconductor contact, metal insulator-semiconductor capacitor, MOS transistors and optoelectronic devices are also introduced. In the experimental part, TCAD tools will be used to build the structures of devices, such as PN junction, diodes, MOS transistors, and optical devices. Moreover, their electrical properties, breakdown properties, and V-I properties will be simulated and analyzed.
