This course provides a foundation in oceanscience by examining the vast body of oceanic knowledge. This knowledgeincludes information from a variety of scientific disciplines - geology,physics, chemistry and biology – as they related to the oceans.？ The maintopics are: 1) marine geology and geophysics; 2) physical oceanography; 3)chemical oceanography; 4) biological oceanography. This course is prerequisitefor core courses in oceanography.
