The course aims atdeveloping a thorough understanding of the physical principles of moderncosmology. Students will learn the fundamental physics underlying the hot BigBang history of the universe, including nucleosynthesis, recombination,structure formation and the cosmic microwave background. In addition to thestandard cosmological model, the course will also expose students to morerecent developments related to cosmic inflation and dark energy.
