The course will help students to understand the major theories of contemporary translation studies and major issues in translation history, differentiate type of texts, language and strategies for scientific and technical translation, develop a basic proficiency in written scientific and technical translation from English into Simplified Chinese, and become skilled in clear expression and sensitive to stylistic issues.
