Thisis a two-credit theory course. This course will introduce and analyze abouteight eco-films including fictions, documentaries and cartoons, for helpingstudents understand and feel the globalized environmental problems perceptuallyand specified. Combining with theoretical analysis, this course will providestudents the elementary ideas, concepts, and frameworks of ecological thoughts,ecological philosophy, and ecological criticism, and will help students todevelop a basic understanding of the relationship between science, technology,society, and ecology/environment, so that they can achieve basic ecologicalliteracy for ecological civilization. At the same time, this course may helpstudents to have a general understanding of ecological and environmental films,and furthermore, this course requires students to make a short eco-video bythemselves as exam.Becauseof the special requirement of this course, students are not allowed to take thiscourse without the professor’s permission since the third week, and professorwill only accept the students who attended this course in the first and secondweek after the second week. The students who hope to take this course butfailed at the first two weeds are suggested to attend the class as audient inthat time.
