This is a two-credit theory course. This course will introduce and analyze about eight eco-films including fictions, documentaries and cartoons, for helping students understand and feel the globalized environmental problems perceptually and specified. Combining with theoretical analysis, this course will provide students the elementary ideas, concepts, and frameworks of ecological thoughts, ecological philosophy, and ecological criticism, and will help students to develop a basic understanding of the relationship between science, technology, society, and ecology/environment, so that they can achieve basic ecological literacy for ecological civilization. At the same time, this course may help students to have a general understanding of ecological and environmental films, and furthermore, this course requires students to make a short eco-video by themselves as exam. Because of the special requirement of this course, students are not allowed to take this course without the professor’s permission since the third week, and professor will only accept the students who attended this course in the first and second week after the second week. The students who hope to take this course but failed at the first two weeds are suggested to attend the class as audient in that time.
