How different types of environments effectpeople in their day to day lives, health and well-being? How people cognizeenvironments and interpret them? How can we help people actively structure thespace and surrounding environment in a way that more optimal to them?Especially in a dysfunctional environment, people tend to stuck in a reactivemode, how can we help them taking an active role in improving environment? Howcan we get people to behave in an ecologically positive manner, to protectenvironment, to go green? It is all about Environmental Psychology, it is adiscipline that pays attention to the interaction and relationship betweenhuman and environment: on the one hand, it emphasizes how people are affectedby the environment, on the other hand, it also pays attention to the impact andreactive and active responses of human to the environment. Environmentalpsychology is inherently interdisciplinary and here we emphasizes ontranslating various evaluation and design guidelines and principles based onenvironmental behavioral studies. In this course, we are together to build agood reciprocal interactive relation with our environment, to bring theenvironment closer to what we want; take one step further, to encourageeveryone in class to link basic theories and research with real environmentalproblem-solving; and to create the optimization of human and environment.
