SUSTech English I (SE I) is the first course in the Center for Language Education core curriculum. The course aims to improve the accuracy, fluency, and overall communicative competence of students for their university study. In this course, students are given plenty of opportunities and encouraged to practice their oral English and communicative skills both in and beyond the classroom. By engaging in meaningful discussions on various well-selected topics, students are able to gain confidence gradually as English speakers. Moreover, throughout the course, students are required to complete group projects, which motivate English utilization outside of classroom. Writing practice is another focus in this course. Following the steps of collaborative writing, independent writing, and reflective writing, with responsibilities added along the way, the course not only helps students to become better writers but also builds the character of an independent and responsible scholar-to-be.

人凶事多打分低。作业跟其他英语班相比多出两个数量级，作业以及课上的项目打分也比其他班低很多。

上课说的最多的就是 guys plz speak louder 给学生上压力，不然就用 take your points off 或者 fail you 来威胁你。课内收获基本没有，纯纯大水课（仅课堂范围内），作业的话每周的 journals 要求一大堆能写到死。

结论是不建议选这门课，没有必要把时间浪费在这种课上。

建议某些人看到这条先别急，更猛的料我还没爆呢。

感觉罗老师人很好，会给学生发糖，送奶茶。期末周参加一个英语讲座还能在总评上加分。人也很有意思，第一节课就在课上说我也是二次元，还浅浅聊了起来。有一次特别神秘的让我们关上电子设备，说要做一个quiz，不准作弊，结果是在PPT上出了几个选择题，选项很抽象，目的是提醒我们按时交journal啥的。但课堂上发言的同学挺少（或许是英语课的通病？），如果你积极发言，体验还是挺不错的。

作业真的是史诗级的多，我舍友和我同一项作业，完全那就不是一个字数级别的。而且上课她经常会莫名的发火，而且最爱说的一句话就是：louder。如果你不是很缺分的话，尽量选一个作业相对少一点的老师吧，因为期末谁都想复习复习高数线代和大雾

罗杨老师的英语课还是很有意思的。

英语课的内容还是很充实的，除了Pre的课比较轻松以外，其他的课都比较紧，想写作业的同学可能不太有时间。

上课一直跟老师互动的话确实能够提高自己的英语口语能力，也会有很好的课堂参与感。

老师还是很认真负责的，能看出每节课都有精心备课，在最后的Shark Tank上很认真地评价了每个产品。

老师很友善，在期中的时候给大家准备了小糖果。期末前的最后一节课还准备了巧克力，会发给大家。

作业的话只要不拖ddl的话都没有问题，给分也挺好的。让我很高兴的一点是SE1 的journal有的班级会要求手写，这里只需要交电子版就可以了。

总结：上课经常和老师互动会很愉快，老师也很幽默风趣

罗老师的课唯一能说是缺点的可能是作业稍微多一点。其他都挺好的。

罗老师人很好啊，很贴心。给分挺好的我觉得，只要认真做了分数都很高的，最后成绩出的不错。认真听课也有收获。

评论里很多说罗老师的言论我表示我个人不太能理解。上课反复强调说英语要大声有问题吗，这怎么就算是对学生施压呢，英语的练习不就是要大声说么，罗老师还经常给学生带糖呢。有些人做个英语视频作业都要配音的还要怪老师给分低属实不理解，只要认真做就算英语不好assignment罗老师做多也就扣0.5。上课不听，不多说英语，作业不好好做，哪能有收获呢。

总的来说罗老师的SE1还是很不错的

感觉老师有一定的抖s气质(？作业有点小多对于格式也很讲究，有时候看起来很凶但是会用粉红兔子表情包嘻嘻
